The paper focused on the disintegration characteristics of purple parent rocks from the K2m, J3t and J1l, Yunnan Province of Southern China under laboratory conditions. The experiment was designed according to applications of water, heat and hydrothermal interaction during five treatments: wetting-drying (WD), saturation (ST), refrigeration-heating (RH), a combination of wet-dry and refrigeration-heating (WDRH), and a combination of saturation and refrigeration-heating (STRH). The results showed that the rank order of the disintegration rates was the following: WDRH > STRH > ST > WD > RH. The disintegration rate was a positively with cycle number of the treatment for J1l and K2m, but a negatively correlation for J3t. And the disintegration rate was positively correlation with temperature fluctuations and moisture content. The rank order of contribution of the impact factors to rock's disintegration is following: cycle number > temperature change > moisture content.
