Atomic Spin Gyroscope (ASG) is a sensor for high precision rotation measurement, which has been demonstrated in recent years and benefits from its theoretical high sensitivity in compact size and the simple structure even to make a chip-scale one. The demonstrated ASGs were single axis gyroscope, but ASG is a dual axis gyroscope in principal from its dynamic equations. In order to improve the performance of ASG, this paper reported the experimental design of a dual axis ASG. The detailed experimental setup of the ASG based on 129Xe-Cs comagnetometer has been designed, a 3D design of the whole experimental research platform has been introduced as well. Finally, the proposed dual axis ASG has been tested with simulations, and the results showed that this ASG was able to sense rotations in two axes simultaneously.
