This paper proposes a novel use of flocking algorithms for distributed realization of sensor deployment in homogeneous mobile sensor networks. We address the mobile sensor deployment problem under three situations. In the first situation, sensors are redeployed uniformly around the target of interest(TOI) and the network approximates a configuration which consists of equilateral triangle tessellations. In the second situation, sensors can be relocated according to a weight function while in the last situation, sensors can relocate to adjust inter-node distances based on local measurement data hence to enhance monitoring quality. Simulation results demonstrate the proposed algorithm can achieve reliable and satisfactory deployment.
