The transient time of an optical pulse in multi-layered photonic crystal is discussed as a function of the length L of the crystal and the wave vector of the incident light. In a periodic photonic crystal, the transient time τ for the wave vector close to photonic band gap is proportional to L3 while τ for the wave vector at the center of photonic band is proportional to L. In a non-periodic Fibonacci lattice, τ becomes proportional to L3.127 and L1.1287 for the wave vector close to photonic band gap and at the center of photonic band, respectively. The power for Lβ in Fibonacci (periodic) photonic crystal can (not) be changed by refraction indices of consequent layers.
