After establishing the vehicle-track finite element model, the system vibration characteristic is analysised. With the method of modal and harmonic response analysis, the effects on the riding comfort and foundation reaction of different steel spring stiffness and damping were studied. The sperling index reflects the riding comfort. At the same time, the foundation reaction and the force transmission rate were given according to vibration theory. Analysis results indicate: low frequency have a major impact on the system vibration. The greater steel spring stiffness is, the better the riding comfort is and the greater foundation reaction is. Hence, in the engineering, proper steel spring should be chosen to meet the requirements of riding comfort and environmental vibration standard.
