The effect of foundation treatment on ground motion is studied using finite element method. The difference between natural field and stabilized field is compared; the impacts of the stabilization zone width, depth, soil modulus stabilization, soil modulus and the seismic wave characteristics on response of the ground motion are also investigated. Study shows that foundation stabilization has insignificant effect on frequency characteristic of the horizontal acceleration response spectrum; the PGA may have a large diminution. Greater the stabilization depth is, smaller becomes the peak of the horizontal acceleration response spectrum. It is also show that the stabilization width has significant effect on the edge of the stabilization. Increasing soil modulus stabilization not only can obviously reduce the PGA, but also can improve the PGA of the stabilization, meanwhile reduces the PGA of outside the stabilization. The incident of spectrum wave has great effect on response spectrum of the ground motion.
