Wastewater discharged from the campus is characterized as low-strength and relative centralization of usage period. The feasibility of sequencing batch activated reactor (SBR) treating low strength domestic wastewater generated in a campus were investigated through orthogonal test. Considering the pollution decomposition efficiency and the energy consuming, the optimal parameters for SBR treating low strength domestic wastewater were determined as running period 8 h, the ration of aeration time and agitation time 2:1 with medium agitation strength and low aeration strength. SBR was applicable for the treatment of low strength domestic wastewater and reusing it as grey water. It was significant to promote the application of SBR as it was benefit for the reasonable utilization of water resource and the cost reduction for the construction and operation of wastewater treatment plant and sewer network.
