With the introduction of IPTV, Telecom Operators increased their service portfolio for residential users. One of the problem they are facing is the connection between the Home Gateway (HG) with the Set Top Boxes (STBs) located in the home. The connection between HG and the first STB can be done using one of the Home Network technologies (wired or wireless). The connection between the first and the second (or third) STB can be done using, as physical medium, the already laid coaxial cable. The aim of this paper is to present measurements done using Powerline technology over coaxial cable, typically used for terrestrial TV, in order to understand the potentiality of this technology to share IPTV/video services in multi-room scenario, also with High Definition (HD) quality, and in particular the EMC effects measured close to antenna located on the roof when it is not possible to place, at the home ingress of coaxial wiring, a high-pass filter.
