In view of the problem that the high concentration of nitrogen and phosphate remained in secondary effluent, adsorption processes were attempted to remove nitrogen and phosphate. In this paper, nature zeolite was modified and compounded as a matrix material. After treating in these methods, the properties of zeolite had been greatly improved and the goal of nitrogen and phosphate synchronous removal was obtained. Adsorption isotherms were depicted for nitrogen and phosphate removal. Freundlich isotherm model and Langmuir isotherm model were well matched by nitrogen and phosphate absorptions, respectively. Elovich absorption kinetic equation could clearly illuminate the absorption process. From the SEM images that the pore structure was expanded to some extent, the diameter and shape of pores were obviously changed. Meanwhile, the components of the material varied by the analysis of EDS.
