The Matrix Converter (MC) attracts a considerable attention in the scientific community due to the advantages it offers. Simulation of this converter is a time consuming task because its modulation is complex and it usually operates at high modulation frequency. This work presents a novel MC simulation technique called Switching State Matrix Averaging (SSMA). This technique can accelerate the simulation of this converter. Moreover, using RT-Lab eMEGAsim digital simulator and its parallel computing capability, real-time simulation of a model consisting of a MC and a wind turbine is performed.
