In this paper, a wireless energy transmission system based on witricity technology for powering and recharging electrical devices is studied. The relationship between the energy transfer efficiency and several key parameters of the system is analyzed using finite element method (FEM). Thin film witricity cells, consisting of a tape coil on one layer, which is separated by an insulation layer to conductive strips on another layer, are fabricated. These cells are light, compact, and flexible, provide convenience and flexibility in the design of wireless devices. Experiments are conducted to showcase the performance of this energy transfer system.
