Electromagnetic interference (EMI) in adjustable speed drives (ASD) with long feeders are of great significance today. Various simulation models have been developed for inverter, cable and motor. Also different simplifications degrees were adopted to ease the simulation burden. In this paper simplified time domain simulation models for inverter, cable and motor are analyzed, implemented and connected together. The inverter point of view is adopted as it represents the source (dV/dt) of voltage overshoot at motor terminals via long cables. Cable and motor models are added to inverter model forming a single simulation system where the HF-phenomena are reflected accurately. Measurements comparisons are presented to prove the reliability of chosen models. Motor terminal design is realized as an application example for proposed models.
