The accession of China to the World Trade Organization should provide greater access to an erstwhile-untapped market. Trade and foreign investments are expected to increase rapidly. Under this setting, an enormous challenge is posed to the logistics industry as it endeavours to meet the increased demands of the market. Based on the secondary data, this paper described logistics development in the Yangtze River Delta Area in China. The paper is organized into 4 sections. In section 1, a brief description of logistics infrastructure in Yangtze River Delta Area is introduced. In section 2, different transportation system of Shanghai municipality, Jiangshu province and Zhejiang province are compared and analyzed. In section 3, logistics parks in Yangtze River Delta Area are reviewed, especially this paper focuses on Zhejiang TRANSFAR logistics park. In the final section, we draw some good conclusions for improving logistics infrastructure capability and make suggestions for future study.
