A 2D-hysteresis current controller has been designed. This hysteresis current controller combines the very fast dynamic response with a significant reduction of the necessary switching frequency compared with the classical hysteresis current controller. This is achieved by avoiding boundary cycles and using the zero voltage space vectors equally. A description of the general idea, simulation results and measurements at a 160 kVA hard- and a 160 kVA soft-switching Inverter will be presented in this paper.
