In today's Internet environment, an unlimited number of copies of original can be easily distributed and forged. Adequate protection of digital copies of multimedia content is a prerequisite to the distribution over network. Digital watermarking, a method of rights assessment, deploys into hiding to conceal an indelible "rights witness" within the digital work to be protected. In this paper we describe how watermarking and wavelets are useful for digital image protection. The proposed work is based on wavelet transformation methods that embeds and extracts the watermark in digital images with the considerations of perceptual transparency and robustness against geometric attacks.
