In this paper, analysis and design for a dual-boost single-phase active power factor corrector with one cycle control (OCC) is presented. The dual boost topology combines rectification and power factor correction (PFC) together. Only one of the two power switches is operated respectively during each positive or negative half line cycles. The controller employs the one-cycle-control strategy, which features great simplicity and excellent stability. Stability analysis and some guidelines for the selection of the circuit parameters in practical application are provided in the paper. The proposed topology can achieve unit power factor theoretically and be very suitable for medium to high power applications. The theoretical analysis is verified by simulation or experiments based on a 400 W OCC-PFC prototype
