Sonification, "sound visualization", is an emerging field in human computer interaction (HCI). An important goal of interface design is to provide the right information at the right time in right format. The debate stands out because of the apparent difficulty of achieving this goal. In information sonification, various types of information need to be displayed clearly and unambiguously, and some obstacles need to be addressed for a discriminate representation of a large data set. It is a significant challenge to determine how to map data to an auditory display because of the lack of applied theories of mapping generation for a successful sonification. The gap can be bridged by comprehensively investigating cognitive aspects of auditory perception. The sonification design guidelines based on this investigation facilitate an intuitive and discriminated interpretation
