A coherent optical ring distribution system using a common local oscillator is investigated. The results show that equal IF signal for all the nodes can be easily achieved and there exists an optimum branch coupling ratio to achieve a maximum IF signal. In addition, equal IF signal to noise ratio is achievable when the signal and LO have limited output powers.<<ETX>>
