An interactive image display and processing program has been developed using Fortran and the ANSI-ISO standard Graphical Kernel system (GKS). Conceived as a tool to support both research and educational objectives, the software provides a wide array of image processing functions in a fully portable package. The program is built around four principal operations: (1) input of image data, (2) image modification/enhancement, (3) perform Fourier transforms on an image, and (4) display/save the (modified) image. The latest version of the program allows the user to interact through a three-menu structure: (1) a global level (whose functions are accessible at the other two levels), which includes image file I/O, window select, zoom, colour key select, help and exit: (2) the main menu, which contains major image processing functions (histogram, dual image, filtering, edge detection, image transform, noise analysis), and (3) local menus for each option at level (2).<<ETX>>
