Ni x Mn 0.4−x Zn 0.6 Fe 2 O 4 , with x=0.1–0.4, are synthesized by the citrate precursor method and their DC resistivity, dielectric relaxation intensity, relative loss factor, Curie temperature, saturation magnetization and the B–H loop parameters have been studied. Resistivity and dielectric relaxation intensity are observed to increase and decrease, respectively, with increase in nickel content. The relative loss factor is observed to be in the range of 10 −2 –10 −4 . Saturation magnetization increases up to x=0.3 and then decreases. Curie temperature is observed to increase continuously from 370°C to 490°C with increase in nickel content. Almost rectangular B–H curves and reasonably low coercivity are observed.
