We provide a ranking of finance programs in the Asia-Pacific region using a set of 21 finance journals during the period of 1990–2004. A total of 170 universities are ranked. The top five universities are Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Nanyang Technological University, and the University of New South Wales. Our findings show that Asia-Pacific universities' share of worldwide publications continues to rise over the last 15 years. The results from subperiod analyses suggest that a majority of the top 25 Asia-Pacific universities have experienced an explosive growth in finance research during the second half of the 1990s.
