The aim of rehabilitation is an optimal recovering of language and communication. The limits are multiple: absence or lack of verbal communication, specific troubles of one component of the language, associated cognitive neuropsychological troubles. The association of an aphasia and an intellectual deterioration is not a contra-indication to any rehabilitation, even not the severity of the troubles of language and the age of the patient. However, the lack of orthophonists obliges to establish priorities in regard to those elements. The choice of the method of linguistic rehabilitation is done according to the aphasic symptomatology: semiological, cognitive, pragmatic. The non linguistic rehabilitation aim is to obtain a non verbal communication: sign language, drawing, visual communication. There is no study proving the efficacity of a particular method of rehabilitation or its indication according to the type of aphasia.L'objectif de la reeducation est une recuperation optimale du langage et de la communication.
