The compounds with compositions Cr 2−x Ti x O 3+δ (where x=0 to 0.3 with an interval 0.05) were prepared by gel combustion method and characterized by XRD, DLS, SEM and thermal techniques. The electrical properties, such as dielectric constant and ionic conductivity of these compounds, were studied in the frequency range 10MHz–1Hz, in the temperature interval 350–750K, using impedance analyzer. From the heat capacity and dielectric constant measurements, a diffused-phase transition was observed in the samples which were attributed to an electronic-type transition. From Arrhenius plot, the activation energy for conduction for the different compositions was derived.
