This paper describes the culture of Venus clam larvae, Cyclina sinensis (Gmelin), to metamorphosis and the first successful case of rearing Venus clam seeds on a commercial scale and at high density. Performances of broodstock, eggs and larvae were examined. Metamorphosed larvae (seeds) produced were 2.3x10 8 in a rearing tank of 31.8 m 2 in base at the end of the experiment, with a mean shell lengthxshell height of 259.6x242.0 μm, giving a production of 7.23x10 6 seeds/m 2 .
