A study of intermittency has been carried out within the framework of the α-cascade model using both scaled factorial as well as generalised moments. It has been found that, depending upon the multiplicity, the scaled factorial moments can sometimes lead to negative slopes when log F q is plotted against - log δη. Compared to this the generalised momentsG q have been found to be unaffected by multiplicity.
