La constatation régulière de cas d'érythème fessier chez les enfants hospitalisés dans une unité de néonatologie a conduit à s'interroger sur le protocole classique de nettoyage du siège. Dans le cadre d'une démarche de soins l'utilisation de lingettes nettoyantes prêtes à l'emploi a été étudiée. Après accord du dermatologue référent, un test de deux mois puis une utilisation pendant un an, chez environ 500 nouveau nés proches du terme, ont confirmé l'efficacité et la bonne tolérance de ce produit. Cette procédure permet également une meilleure organisation des soins et des économies financières significatives. La satisfaction des membres de l'équipe soignante et des parents qui participent à ces soins a abouti à la généralisation de cette pratique au sein de l'unité. Une attention toute particulière doit être apportée aux caractéristiques techniques des lingettes utilisées.
