The pulse nuclear magnetic resonance method has been employed to investigate the dynamics of the molecular state of water on swelling and germination of seeds on exposure to structural cytoskeleton modifiers - colchicine and cytochalazine B. From changes in the spin-spin relaxation times T 2 , it is concluded that the water fractions redistribute at the moment of passage of the physical stage of water absorption to a physiologically regulated process. It is assumed that inhibitors of cytoskeleton proteins lower the surface and capillary forces resulting in rise in the content of free and fall in the amount of bound water. Modifiers of the structural state of the cytoskeleton display their maximum effect - marked inhibition of germination for minimal moisture content of the seeds - initial stage of swelling.
