The specific heat measurements of sulfur-deficient ferromagnetic BaVS 3 were performed in the temperature range 1.4-300 K. A broad maximum was observed around 20 K. The corresponding extra entropy increases gradually and finally saturates to almost R In 2 well above 20 K. At low temperatures a T-linear contribution to the specific heat was found. These behaviors along with the results for stoichiometric BaVS 3 are discussed by taking account of one-dimensional characters of this compound.
