Nous avons mis en place depuis 2007 une prise en charge multidisciplinaire en éducation thérapeutique de l’adolescent en difficulté avec son poids. Ce travail a nécessité la création d’outils variés et adaptés à la population. C’est dans ce cadre que nous avons créé un photo « langage/émotions ».Le photo « langage/émotions » est composé d’une cinquantaine de photographies autour de thèmes comme l’alimentation, les émotions ou encore différentes situations de la vie sociale qui peuvent être vécues comme stigmatisantes par l’adolescent souffrant d’obésité.La première étape a été la recherche par des membres de l’équipe d’animation (diététicien et psychologue) des thématiques puis nous avons procédé à une sélection dans des bases de données de photographies libres de droits sur internet. Nous avons favorisé des personnages présentant une obésité plus ou moins forte mais sans s’y limiter.Le photo « langage/émotions » est utilisé à différentes phases de la prise en charge pour permettre de s’exprimer autour de thèmes divers. Il est aussi utilisé comme rituel de démarrage dans les séances d’éducation pour inciter à la parole et permettre à l’adolescent de mettre des mots sur son ressenti, ses émotions et les partager avec l’ensemble du groupe.A l’heure actuelle, nous avons testé l’outil avec trois groupes différents (27 adolescents âgés de 13 à 19 ans). Cet outil est bien accueilli par les adolescents qui disposent d’un média sur lequel il est possible de poser des mots. Il semble être un outil facilitateur de l’expression et rend les séances, du point de vue des animateurs, beaucoup plus fluides et dynamiques.Cet outil reste pourtant à améliorer, autant dans le choix des photographies que dans leur qualité. L’idéal serait de pouvoir accompagner les adolescents dans l’élaboration et la création de leur propre outil.Notre photo « langage/émotions » est un outil qui facilite l’expression dans le travail avec l’adolescent en difficulté avec son poids, aussi bien du point de vue des participants que de celui des animateurs.
