Chinese LiF:Mg,Cu,P (GR-200) detectors with the advantages of high sensitivity and other favourable dosimetric properties require a restricted temperature treatment for read-out and annealing, including high heating-up and cooling-down rates. Modifications to a conventional readily-available commercial volume-type oven are described that achieve a precision of ≤ 1% (1σ r e l ) for doses of 50-1000 μGy, a range which is of significance for environmental, occupational and patient diagnostic dosimetry.
