It is shown by straightforward calculations that a single static field gradient pulse can induce a transfer of the type 2I A , x I X , y → 2I A , y I X , x whereI A and I X refer to spin operators of a weakly J-coupled system of two spin-12 nuclei. A simple experiment, starting with the selective excitation of spin A and ending up with antiphase doublets for both A and X nuclei, demonstrates this feature.
