Electromagnetic and mechanical effects, typical for a dusty plasma, and the interplay between them, are discussed. More precisely, the effects of charge fluctuations on dust grains, caused by the collision with electrons and ions from the ambient plasma, on the electron acoustic mode, are studied. The conditions for instability, driven by the charge fluctuation, are derived in several limits, regarding the ratio of the ion and electron attachment frequencies, as well as the wavelength of the perturbations.
