The polarised infrared reflection spectra of betaine ortho-phosphoric acid complex have been measured at room temperature. The results obtained are discussed on the basis of the crystal structure and in relation to the previously reported polarised infrared transmission spectra. The spectroscopic parameters of the betaine carboxyl group (ν a COO and δCOO) confirmed the proton disorder inside one of the complex hydrogen bond.
