Catalytic cracking of benzene was carried out under He or H 2 gas flow at 1.0 and 5.0MPa in the temperature range of 500-800 o C. Coke was extracted from each of the resultant coked zeolites by HF and HCl washing. The coked zeolites and the liberated cokes were characterized by N 2 adsorption and SEM observation. The results of the characterization were discussed in relation to the location of coke in zeolite.
