Various applications of computer simulation to high energy backscattering analysis were systematically summarized. With the aid of the data measured in the accelerator lab at Fudan University, the data base of the computer simulation program RUMP was renewed to make it applicable to higher energy region. Some experimental results to elucidate superiority of the simulation were given and a new approach for quick calculation of non-Rutherford backscattering cross section based on the simulation principle was suggested. Experimental results of 4 He- 1 2 C scattering were also presented.
