La multiplication des thérapeutiques, le caractère chronique et souvent asymptomatique de la maladie poussent souvent à la mauvaise observance thérapeutique chez le diabétique. L’objectif de cette étude était d’évaluer l’observance du traitement du diabète sucré et de préciser les facteurs susceptibles de l’influencer et son rôle dans l’équilibre glycémiqueIl s’agissait d’une étude prospective descriptive basée sur un interrogatoire mené grâce à un questionnaire standardisé sur l’observance thérapeutique chez 70 patients diabétiques type 2.L’échantillon comportait 45 femmes et 25 hommes d’âges moyens de 55 ans. L’ancienneté moyenne du diabète était de 6 ans. 40 % des diabétiques n’avaient aucune scolarité, 48 % avaient atteint soit un niveau primaire soit le secondaire ou le lycée et 12 % avaient étudié à l’université. 70 % avaient une couverture médicale. La moyenne de l’HbA1C est de 9,5 % et 14 % des patients on été équilibrée avec une HbA1C < 7 % Dans notre étude 2 % sont sous régime seul, 54 % sous ADO seuls, 44 % sous insuline, seule 6 % se plaignent d’effets indésirables liés au traitement principalement sous bithérapie. Les principales causes de l’arrêt du traitement étaient l’oubli (30 % des cas) et la non dis-ponibilité au dispensaire local (20 % des cas).Les patients mal observants étaient plus âgés (32 % ont plus de 65 ans), avaient un taux d’analphabétisme plus élevé (20 %) et un niveau socio économique bas (15 %).La non-observance thérapeutique est un réel problème dans la prise en charge du diabète type 2 d’où l’intérêt de sensibiliser les patients sur ses conséquences en termes de l’équilibre glycémiqueLes auteurs déclarent ne pas avoir d’intérêt direct ou indirect (financier ou en nature) avec un organisme privé, industriel ou commercial en relation avec le sujet présenté.
