The reaction behaviour of the β-type chelates of lanthanide ions (Ln 3+ ) with p-bromochloroarsenazo (4-CAsA-pB) in 0.01 mol 1 -1 HClO 4 solution has been studied systematically by a spectrophotometric method. All the lanthanide ions can form β-type chelates with p-bromochloroarsenazo. The maximum absorption wavelength is in the range 727-731 nm, the molar absorptivities...
The UV absorption spectra of aqueous tyrosine at various total ionic strengths were measured at known pH values at 298.2±0.2 K. The standard third dissociation constant of tyrosine was determined from the spectra by linear extrapolation and polynomial approximation. The results obtained from both methods are in good agreement within experimental error.
The absorption spectra of six phenothiazine derivatives, chlorpromazine, triflupromazine, promazine, promethazine, trifluoperazine and prochlorperazine, measured in the solutions containing various amounts of human erythrocyte ghosts (HEG) showed bathocromic shifts according to the amount of HEG. Due to the strong background signals caused by HEG, the baseline compensation was incomplete, even though...
This work presents some alternative analytical methods for anionic surfactant quantitative determination in aqueous solutions. Interactions of aqueous solutions of three dyes (Rhodamin B, Methyl violet and Fuchsin basic), concentrations 0.3x10 -6 M, with two anionic surfactants in the concentration range of 10 -5 M (sodium salt of naphthalene sulphonate formaldehyde condensates...
Characterisation of phytoplankton communities in aquatic ecosystems is a costly task in terms of time, material and human resources. The general objective of this paper is not to replace microscopic counts but to complement them, by fine-tuning a technique using absorption spectra measurements that reduces the above-mentioned costs. Therefore, the objective proposed in this paper is to assess the...
