Mass spectrometric studies have shown that contact-arc vaporization of polytetrafluoroethylene-containing graphite rods leads to the formation of mainly trifluoromethylated [60]-fullerenes of the general formula C 6 0 (CF 3 ) n H m , where n=1-8 and m=0-9. Similar results were achieved by using sodium trifluoroacetate/graphite composite rods.
