The paper outlines a practical framework for securely supporting teleworking in the corporate environment. A brief introduction to teleworking is given, identifying the different teleworking scenarios and vulnerabilities they introduce into the corporate environment. Security policy issues associated with teleworking are discussed and the support requirements of the teleworker are considered. Three teleworking infrastructure components, authentication, confidentiality, and system management are discussed and practical implementations identified finally a set of realisable implementation recommendations are formalised which support the security policy, and provide practical guidance for the introduction of teleworking in the corporate environment.
