This paper presents a non-contact three-dimensional optical sensing system for measuring deformation of asphalt mixture concrete in order to determine module of elasticity and Poisson’s ratio. The proposed stereovision method consisting of pre-processing, measurement and post-processing stages, and provides an efficient, cost-effective and accurate measurement of asphalt mixture deformation. Two experiments are conducted to evaluate the proposed method. The results are validated via benchmark measurement using LVDT and simulated result from finite element analysis. The absolute average differences among the measured data using LVDT, finite element analysis and the proposed stereovision method exhibit no significant difference.
