The arthroscope has become an extremely important instrument in the evaluation and treatment of wrist instabilities. The instability patterns affecting the wrist have been described and traditionally treated using open techniques. With the advent of small joint arthroscopy, injury patterns affecting the ligamentous structures of the wrist can now be diagnosed and managed arthroscopically Scapholunate ligament tears, lunotriqetral ligament injuries, and midcarpal instabilities are three of the most common instabilities encountered in the wrist that can be managed arthroscopically. This report discusses the anatomy, diagnosis, and arthroscopic management of these commonly encountered injury patterns.
