Sea surface temperatures from the Alboran Sea are analyzed for 25 different zones during the 1980-1990 period. A clear trend of rising temperatures is noted in all zones except the six southernmost ones. Temperature values are compared with those obtained during the first half of the 20 t h century, and also with temperatures measured at various locations during the last few years. A similar analysis of the air temperatures shows that they are a determining factor that confirms the sea surface temperature variations of the Alboran Sea.
