The radiation distribution and radiated energy loss during ELM (Edge Localized Mode) are preliminarily investigated in the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST). The radiated power is measured by fast bolometer which is based on compact, multichannel photodiodes array with fast response time of ∼μs. Most of the ELMs are type-III ELMs for the present H-mode discharges. It is found that only a small part of the ELM-induced energy loss is dissipated by radiation. Radiation distribution in divertor region during ELM is compared with that of between ELMs. The radiation profiles are always peaked near the X-point. Power balance is also presented for the ELMy H-mode discharge.
