Nanocrystalline diamonds (NCDs) were deposited on chemically prepared tungsten carbide substrates via hot filament chemical vapor deposition. The surface morphology of the NCDs was examined using field emission scanning electron microscopy. The NCDs formed a ballas morphology evenly across the tungsten carbide surface.
