This paper deals with the modelling of Ni/Al interdiffusion. The modelling of the diffusion process has been performed by taking into account a single diffusion equation, in which the diffusivity is concentration dependent. This approach allows the calculus procedure to be simplified. Numerical results are in good agreement with experimental ones. This model also enables the influence of heat treatment to be analysed and takes into consideration the initial aluminium layer thickness.
