Spinel LiMn 2 O 4 has been successfully synthesized using a precipitation spray-drying process. After the precursor was annealed at 750°C for 10h, the synthesized material was well-crystallized spinel particle, and exhibited uniform particle size distribution. From cyclic voltammetry results, there is an anomalous redox peaks (3.75/3.26V). In the charge/discharge potential (versus Li) ranging from 3.2 to 4.5V, it delivered a high initial discharge capacity of 123mAh/g at a discharge rate of 60μA/cm 2 (1/4C rate). At a high discharge rate of 2.4mA/cm 2 (10C rate), the obtainable reversible capacity was 79mAh/g. The simple procedure of precipitation spray-drying process is time and energy saving, and thus is promising for commercial application.
