Fe 3 O 4 fuzzy spheroids were synthesized by a facile solvothermal method. The as-prepared Fe 3 O 4 fuzzy spheroids were investigated by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy, and the results showed that they had a spinel structure and a uniform particle size in the range of 120–200nm. Results of electrochemical testing showed that the Fe 3 O 4 fuzzy spheroids exhibited a high initial charge capacity of 980.6mAhg −1 and 949.5mAhg −1 after 165cycles at a current density of 0.5C at ambient temperature, as well as good rate capability. The improvement of reversible capacity and cyclic performance for the Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles could be attributed to the special fuzzy spheroid structure.
