Microwave dielectric ceramics of 0.85MgTiO 3 –0.15Ca 0.6 La 0.8/3 TiO 3 were prepared by adding ZnO as a sintering aid. 0.85MgTiO 3 –0.15Ca 0.6 La 0.8/3 TiO 3 dielectric resonators could be fabricated at a sintering temperature below 1300°C with the addition of 5wt.% ZnO. It is found that low-level doping of ZnO(0.5–5wt.%) can significantly improve the density and dielectric properties of 0.85MgTiO 3 –0.15Ca 0.6 La 0.8/3 TiO 3 ceramics. The quality factor Qxf was strongly dependent upon the amount of additions. Qxf values of 9500GHz and 65,700GHz could be obtained at 1150–1300°C with 5wt.% and 0.5wt.% ZnO addition, respectively. During all addition ranges, the relative dielectric constants were not significantly different and ranged from 21.5 to 25.58. The temperature coefficient varies from 0 to −6.5ppm/°C. A band-pass filter is designed and simulated using the proposed dielectric to study its performance.
