The effect of temporal coherent control on the third harmonic generation into the continuum of ionization of an atomic system is studied by means of a pair of identical laser pulses in a two-photon resonant transition. The process shows quantum interference, producing deep modulation of the harmonic intensity. The transition from the resonant to the non resonant case is also discussed.
