Zn was doped into DCPD coating on high purity Mg (HP Mg) via electrochemical deposition and the microstructure, corrosion resistance and antibacterial behavior were studied. The results showed that Zn doped DCPD coating possessed typical flake-like structure with about 20µm in width and 50–100µm in length. Corrosion current density was decreased in electrochemical test, indicating the corrosion resistance of HP Mg was improved by the coating. The Zn doped DCPD on Mg samples exhibited higher anti-adherent bacteria rate at 24h and 72h towards S. aureus (98.3±0.3% and 91.3±1.6%, respectively), and most adhered bacteria were dead or lose vitality examined by CLSM and SEM, showing excellent antibacterial property of this coating.
